about:

Hi! My name is Rachel, and I’m so glad you’re here.

In short? I’m a mama to three boys, a dog mom to four, a wife, a sports fan, an exercise enthusiast, a terrible cook, and typically find myself thriving in the quiet moments between the chaos. I enjoy early morning weight lifting, walking the dog, reading, true crime podcasts and I live for football season and watching my kids play sports. I have been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2019, in the field of behavior analysis for over a decade and have worked across many settings. groundwork. was born from my passion for helping others and an identified lack of support for some of the most basic but impactful actions we take every day. I believe that the behaviors that regulate, ground, strengthen and lay a foundation for us to live healthy, happy lives are often the most overlooked. I am trauma trained both in the behavior analysis realm and also and as a volunteer victim advocate at a local police service, which has motivated and inspired me to continue a path that supports trauma-informed and evidence based practices that are both accessible and individualized. When I say I’m happy you’re here, I mean it, and I am here to help!

I graduated from Colorado State University (go Rams!) in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Mind, Brain, and Behavior and minor in Spanish before I even knew what Applied Behavior Analysis was. I bopped around a bit, working at a childcare facility for kids with developmental disabilities (this will forever be the best job in the world), as a paraprofessional in a preschool, and supporting a foster family through a local nonprofit before I discovered behavior analysis. I studied at the University of Colorado Denver to complete my post-graduate course sequence to become a BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst), got a job working in-home with kiddos, loved it, and decided that I had found my passion. After an unexpectedly long maternity leave (I was a stay-at-home mom for 2 years and had my second son in that span), I returned to work in Northern Colorado working in home and in the community with individuals of all ages. I never thought I’d love working with adults but man, it’s pretty great! At about this time, I also started working on my Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and had my third baby boy. I graduated in December of 2018 and passed the BCBA exam in February of 2019. Soon after, I switched gears to work in the clinic setting focused on serving kids and growing a new clinic location. That led me to another opportunity several years later to spearhead a behavior program again working in-home and in the community with individuals across the lifespan. This organization also afforded me the opportunity to work alongside the company’s foster care program and be a part of ongoing support for amazing treatment-level foster homes. Talk about heartfelt work! I have found a new inspiration through working with these kiddos and their teams.
